Our Promise

Carpet Tech stands behind the workmanship described in your written estimate or service agreement. If you believe covered work was not performed as agreed, contact us within the applicable guarantee period. We will review the concern promptly and, when the concern is covered, provide an appropriate remedy under these terms.

These Guarantee Terms explain what is covered, what is not covered, and how to request help. They apply only to services for which Carpet Tech, Ltd. or one of its divisions is identified as the service provider on the customer’s written agreement.

1. Company and Divisions

In these terms, “Carpet Tech,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Carpet Tech, Ltd. and the division that performed the covered service, including as applicable:

  • Carpet Tech cleaning and surface-care services
  • CT Restoration
  • CT Construction or the construction entity identified in the agreement
  • CT Specialty Flooring
  • CT Indoor Air Quality
  • Bug Tech

The exact legal entity responsible for the work will be identified in the customer’s estimate, work authorization, invoice, or service agreement.

2. Relationship to Your Service Agreement

These Guarantee Terms supplement the written estimate, scope of work, work authorization, invoice, maintenance plan, or other agreement for the service. The service agreement identifies the work purchased, the property or items covered, the price, and any project-specific conditions.

If a signed project-specific agreement contains different guarantee or warranty terms, those project-specific terms control to the extent of the difference. Any material limitation that differs from these public terms must be disclosed to the customer before work begins.

Manufacturer warranties for products, equipment, coatings, flooring, finishes, or other materials are provided by the manufacturer under the manufacturer’s own terms. Carpet Tech will reasonably assist the original customer with a valid manufacturer claim but does not expand or replace the manufacturer’s warranty unless the written service agreement expressly says otherwise.

3. Who May Make a Claim

Unless a written agreement says otherwise, this guarantee is available to the original customer for the property, system, surface, or item identified in the service agreement. It is not transferable to a later owner, tenant, buyer, or other person without Carpet Tech’s written consent.

For managed properties, a property owner or authorized property manager may submit a claim if that person was a party to the service agreement or has written authorization from the customer.

4. How to Request Guarantee Service

To request help:

  1. Contact Carpet Tech at 833-326-6707 or through the contact form at carpettech.com/contact.
  2. Provide the customer’s name, service address, service date, invoice or job number if available, and a description of the concern.
  3. Submit photographs, videos, readings, or other relevant information if reasonably requested.
  4. Take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage, exposure, contamination, or pest activity.
  5. Allow Carpet Tech a reasonable opportunity to inspect the affected work and perform an approved remedy.

The customer should report an emergency condition immediately. A guarantee request submitted online is not a substitute for calling emergency services, a utility provider, a plumber, the fire department, poison control, or another appropriate authority when people or property may be in immediate danger.

Failure to report a concern within the applicable guarantee period may prevent Carpet Tech from determining its cause and may make the concern ineligible for guarantee service, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

5. General Remedy

If Carpet Tech determines that a timely claim is covered, Carpet Tech will, as appropriate to the service and at no additional labor charge:

  • Re-perform or complete the affected covered service;
  • Repair covered workmanship;
  • Replace the affected portion of covered work;
  • Apply an appropriate account credit; or
  • Refund the amount paid for the affected covered portion of the service.

Carpet Tech will select a reasonable remedy after considering the service performed, the condition of the property or item, safety, proportionality, and applicable law. A refund is not automatic when re-service or repair can reasonably correct the covered concern.

When the work includes a consumer product, installed material, or separately warranted equipment, additional rights and obligations may apply under the written product warranty and applicable law.

6. Conditions Applicable to Every Division

The guarantee applies only when:

  • The customer has paid all undisputed amounts due under the agreement;
  • Carpet Tech performed the work at issue;
  • The concern relates to the agreed scope of work;
  • The customer followed written preparation, access, use, drying, curing, maintenance, safety, and aftercare instructions;
  • Carpet Tech is given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct covered work; and
  • The condition was not caused or materially worsened by a new event, another contractor, misuse, neglect, undisclosed conditions, or circumstances outside Carpet Tech’s reasonable control.

Carpet Tech may deny only the portion of a claim actually affected by a customer’s failure to meet these conditions. Nothing in this section removes rights that cannot legally be waived.

7. General Exclusions

Unless expressly included in the written service agreement, the guarantee does not cover:

  • Pre-existing damage, wear, defects, code violations, improper construction, installation failure, manufacturer defects, or conditions concealed from reasonable inspection;
  • Conditions outside the quoted work area or service scope;
  • New water intrusion, leaks, fire, smoke, weather, ground movement, humidity, building movement, power failure, HVAC failure, sewer backup, contamination, infestation, or other event occurring after service;
  • Work altered, repaired, cleaned, treated, installed, or disturbed by the customer or a third party after Carpet Tech’s service;
  • Normal wear and tear, aging, fading, oxidation, traffic patterns, ordinary resoiling, or routine maintenance needs;
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, improper products, failure to maintain, unauthorized chemicals, excessive moisture, pets, occupants, tenants, guests, contractors, or moving furniture or equipment;
  • Exact color, texture, gloss, grain, aggregate, pattern, dye-lot, or appearance matching when natural variation, aging, prior exposure, or unavailable materials make an exact match impracticable;
  • Loss of use, inconvenience, business interruption, lost revenue, lost rent, diminution in value, or consequential or incidental loss, except to the extent such a limitation is prohibited by law;
  • Conditions the customer declined to authorize, including recommended demolition, testing, treatment, repair, replacement, maintenance, or follow-up service; or
  • Statements or promises not contained in the written agreement or these Guarantee Terms.

8. Cleaning and Surface-Care Guarantee

8.1 Covered services

This section applies to residential and commercial carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning, mattress cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, hard-surface cleaning, hardwood maintenance cleaning, concrete and natural-stone cleaning, and similar routine cleaning services.

8.2 Guarantee period

The customer must report a workmanship concern within 10 calendar days after onsite service is completed. For an item cleaned at Carpet Tech’s facility, the period begins on the date the item is delivered or returned to the customer.

8.3 What is covered

Subject to the written scope and these terms, the guarantee covers:

  • An agreed area that was unintentionally omitted;
  • Cleaning residue caused by Carpet Tech’s application or rinse process;
  • A spot that reappears within the guarantee period when Carpet Tech determines that reasonable re-service may improve the result;
  • A covered cleaning step that was not performed as described; and
  • A workmanship concern that Carpet Tech determines can reasonably be corrected by re-service.

The standard remedy is one reasonable re-cleaning or re-service of the affected covered area.

8.4 Cleaning results that are not guaranteed

Cleaning improves soil, spot, and odor conditions but cannot reverse every form of permanent damage. Unless a written agreement expressly guarantees a specific result, Carpet Tech does not guarantee:

  • Complete removal of every stain, discoloration, odor, allergen, microorganism, contaminant, or residue;
  • Restoration of worn, crushed, abraded, sun-faded, chemically damaged, bleached, burned, dyed, or permanently discolored fibers or surfaces;
  • Removal of filtration soil, dye transfer, tannin staining, rust, ink, paint, adhesive, bodily-fluid discoloration, or other permanent changes;
  • Prevention of wicking or reappearance caused by substances in carpet backing, pad, subfloor, upholstery fill, grout, stone, concrete, or another underlying material;
  • Elimination of pet urine or odor that has penetrated below the material treated;
  • A particular health, allergy, indoor-air, disinfecting, or sanitizing outcome; or
  • Protection against ordinary resoiling after service.

Pet treatment, deodorizer, protector, stain treatment, sealing, disinfecting, and antimicrobial applications are covered only when separately identified in the written agreement.

8.5 Customer responsibilities

The customer must follow Carpet Tech’s drying and aftercare instructions, promptly blot new spills, avoid applying consumer spotters or other chemicals to the affected area before inspection, and keep children and pets away as instructed while surfaces dry.

9. Water, Fire, Mold, Biohazard, and Restoration Guarantee

9.1 Covered services

This section applies to emergency water mitigation, structural drying, fire and smoke cleaning, odor treatment, mold remediation, biohazard cleanup, contents handling and cleaning, and related restoration work. Reconstruction is addressed in Section 10.

9.2 Guarantee period

A concern about covered mitigation or remediation workmanship must be reported within 30 calendar days after Carpet Tech documents that the applicable work phase is complete, unless a longer period appears in the written agreement or is required by law.

9.3 What is covered

Subject to the approved scope, the guarantee covers failure to perform an authorized restoration step in a manner materially consistent with the written work plan and applicable professional standard identified in the agreement.

If covered, Carpet Tech will inspect and reasonably correct the affected workmanship within the original authorized scope.

9.4 Drying documentation

When structural drying is included, completion means that Carpet Tech documented moisture conditions in the accessible affected materials against the drying goal used for the project. A completion reading describes conditions at that time. It is not a promise that the property will remain dry after a new leak, humidity change, weather event, plumbing failure, HVAC condition, or other later event.

9.5 Conditions and outcomes not guaranteed

Unless expressly stated in the project agreement, Carpet Tech does not guarantee:

  • That insurance will cover, price, or pay any portion of the loss;
  • A particular claim outcome, deductible, depreciation amount, adjuster decision, or reimbursement time;
  • That every damaged material or personal item can be restored rather than replaced;
  • Elimination of all smoke odor when affected materials remain outside the authorized scope or concealed residues remain inaccessible;
  • That mold or microbial growth will never occur or return after a new moisture event or in an area outside the remediated scope;
  • A health outcome, medical result, environmental clearance, or absence of all spores, particles, organisms, or contaminants;
  • Conditions behind inaccessible or unapproved areas when destructive investigation was not authorized;
  • Work or testing that must legally be performed by an independent assessor, hygienist, laboratory, engineer, or other licensed professional; or
  • A specific emergency arrival time unless expressly guaranteed in writing for the applicable market and event.

9.6 Mold and environmental testing

When independent post-remediation verification, laboratory testing, or clearance is required or selected, the independent professional’s written criteria control that testing. Carpet Tech does not direct or guarantee an independent professional’s conclusion. If a failed clearance is caused by covered Carpet Tech workmanship within the authorized scope, Carpet Tech will reasonably address the covered work and cooperate with retesting as stated in the project agreement.

9.7 New or continuing sources

The customer is responsible for stopping and repairing the source of water, smoke, sewage, contamination, or other damaging condition unless that source repair is expressly included in Carpet Tech’s written scope. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by a source that remains active or recurs.

10. Construction, Flooring, Refinishing, Coating, and Installation Limited Workmanship Guarantee

10.1 Covered services

This section applies to reconstruction, hardwood installation and refinishing, concrete polishing or staining, epoxy and other coating systems, VCT, natural stone restoration, rubber and safety surfaces, and other installation or refinishing work.

10.2 Guarantee period

Carpet Tech provides a one-year limited workmanship guarantee beginning on the date of substantial completion, unless the signed project agreement states a different period or applicable law requires otherwise.

“Substantial completion” means the covered work is sufficiently complete for its intended use, even if minor punch-list items remain.

10.3 What is covered

The limited workmanship guarantee covers defects caused by Carpet Tech’s failure to install, prepare, apply, finish, or complete the authorized work materially in accordance with the written scope, published manufacturer instructions applicable to the installed system, and professional practices identified in the agreement.

The remedy may include repair, re-performance, recoating, or replacement of the affected covered portion. Carpet Tech is not required to replace unaffected areas solely because a repaired area has a reasonable color, sheen, grain, aggregate, texture, or age difference.

10.4 Materials and manufacturer warranties

Materials and installed products are covered by their manufacturers’ warranties, if any. The customer will receive or be given access to applicable warranty terms. A manufacturer warranty may require registration, environmental controls, maintenance, documentation, or use restrictions.

A claim such as a 10-year UV or fade warranty applies only when that warranty is expressly listed in the project agreement and is subject to the named manufacturer’s written terms. Marketing language does not create coverage beyond the applicable written warranty.

10.5 Flooring and finish exclusions

The workmanship guarantee does not cover:

  • Natural wood, stone, concrete, or aggregate variation;
  • Seasonal wood movement, ordinary expansion and contraction, checking, gaps, or changes caused by indoor temperature or relative humidity outside the specified range;
  • Moisture vapor, hydrostatic pressure, slab moisture, plumbing leaks, groundwater, drainage, or substrate conditions that were concealed, changed, excluded from testing, or outside approved limits;
  • Structural movement, settlement, cracks, deflection, vibration, or failure of the building or substrate;
  • Scratches, dents, chips, wear, traffic patterns, tire pickup, hot-tire damage, chemical exposure, staining, fading, pet damage, furniture damage, or improper cleaning;
  • Premature use, traffic, washing, covering, loading, or chemical exposure before the stated cure time;
  • Failure to follow written maintenance, humidity, cleaning, cure, or protection instructions;
  • Existing coatings, adhesives, contaminants, or materials the customer did not authorize Carpet Tech to remove;
  • Repairs performed by another contractor; or
  • Aesthetic preferences that differ from an approved sample, mock-up, color range, or documented natural variation.

10.6 Notice of a defect

The customer must notify Carpet Tech promptly after discovering a potential defect and before the condition materially worsens. Delayed notice does not automatically void coverage, but Carpet Tech is not responsible for additional damage that reasonable prompt notice could have prevented.

11. Bug Tech Pest-Management Guarantee

11.1 The service agreement defines coverage

Pest activity is affected by pest biology, weather, neighboring properties, sanitation, structural openings, moisture, food sources, occupant behavior, and other changing conditions. Bug Tech guarantees the pest-management service described in the customer’s written agreement, not that no pest will ever be seen again.

Every pesticide application will be performed in a manner consistent with the applicable product label. Label directions and legal safety requirements control over any inconsistent statement in marketing or these terms.

11.2 One-time general pest service

When the written agreement identifies a 30-day one-time service guarantee, the customer may request one follow-up inspection or re-service for the same target pest in the same treated area within 30 calendar days after the initial service.

If the written agreement does not identify a follow-up guarantee, a one-time service includes only the visit and scope stated in that agreement.

11.3 Recurring protection plans

While a recurring plan is active, paid, and in good standing, Bug Tech will provide additional service between regularly scheduled visits for a covered pest when the plan expressly includes free callbacks. The plan controls:

  • Covered and excluded pests;
  • Covered structures and areas;
  • Scheduled frequency;
  • Customer preparation and prevention duties;
  • Callback procedures;
  • Term, renewal, cancellation, and fees; and
  • Any waiting period or initial-service requirement.

An additional service does not restart or extend the plan term unless the written plan says so.

11.4 Special pests and services

Termites, bed bugs, mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, wildlife, rodents, bees, wasps, hornets, birds, agricultural pests, fumigation, exclusion work, and commercial food-safety programs require pest- and property-specific terms. No general website promise expands the signed agreement for these services.

Termite warranties, retreat-and-repair coverage, monitoring plans, wildlife warranties, bed bug follow-ups, mosquito population-reduction programs, and exclusion warranties apply only when written into the customer’s specific agreement.

11.5 Pest guarantee exclusions

The guarantee does not cover:

  • A pest not identified as covered in the agreement;
  • Activity outside the treated structure or area;
  • New activity introduced after service through people, pets, luggage, used furniture, deliveries, firewood, landscaping, neighboring properties, or another source;
  • Conditions caused by uncorrected sanitation, clutter, standing water, moisture, food, waste, vegetation, structural gaps, roof or plumbing defects, or other conducive conditions identified to the customer;
  • Areas that are inaccessible, unsafe, locked, concealed, or excluded from treatment;
  • Failure to complete preparation, laundering, disposal, sanitation, repair, exclusion, monitoring, or follow-up instructions;
  • Treatment disturbed or counteracted by cleaning, construction, landscaping, weather, flooding, another pesticide, or a third party;
  • Temporary pest sightings consistent with the treatment process or pest life cycle; or
  • Injury, illness, property damage, crop loss, business interruption, or regulatory outcome not caused by covered Bug Tech workmanship.

11.6 Safety and re-entry

Customers must follow the technician’s written preparation, evacuation, re-entry, ventilation, cleaning, pet, food, and environmental instructions. Product-specific label instructions control. Customers should disclose children, pregnancy, respiratory sensitivity, aquariums, exotic animals, pollinators, wells, food-handling areas, and other relevant conditions before treatment so Bug Tech can plan appropriately.

12. CT Indoor Air Quality, Vent, and Chimney Guarantee

12.1 Covered cleaning services and period

For air-duct cleaning, dryer-vent cleaning, exhaust-vent cleaning, PTAC or mini-split cleaning, vent-hood cleaning, and chimney cleaning, the customer must report a workmanship concern within 10 calendar days after service.

12.2 What is covered

Subject to the written scope, the guarantee covers:

  • An accessible component or register included in the agreement that was unintentionally omitted;
  • Failure to perform an included inspection or documentation step;
  • Debris left in an accessible work area due to Carpet Tech’s service; or
  • A covered cleaning step that Carpet Tech determines was not materially completed as agreed.

The usual remedy is inspection followed by completion or reasonable re-performance of the affected covered work.

12.3 Installed systems and duct sealing

Carpet Tech provides a one-year limited workmanship guarantee for the installation of an air-purification, UV, filtration, aerosol duct-sealing, or similar installed system unless the signed agreement states otherwise. Equipment, lamps, filters, sealants, controls, and replacement components are covered by the applicable manufacturer’s warranty.

The guarantee does not cover consumable replacement, normal maintenance, electrical supply problems, HVAC defects, customer modifications, incompatible third-party equipment, or operation outside manufacturer requirements.

12.4 Outcomes not guaranteed

Unless supported by a separate written performance commitment in the service agreement, Carpet Tech does not guarantee:

  • Prevention or cure of allergies, asthma, illness, irritation, or any other health condition;
  • Removal of every particle, allergen, odor, microorganism, mold spore, pest contaminant, or source of indoor-air concern;
  • A particular indoor-air-quality test result;
  • A reduction in utility bills, energy use, HVAC runtime, or equipment wear;
  • Elimination of an odor whose source is outside the cleaned system or remains in inaccessible material;
  • Prevention of future dust, lint, soot, grease, creosote, microbial growth, pest activity, or contamination;
  • Correction of damaged, disconnected, leaking, improperly designed, code-deficient, or inaccessible ducts, vents, chimneys, appliances, or HVAC components unless repair is included; or
  • That cleaning alone makes a system safe, code-compliant, structurally sound, or suitable for continued operation.

12.5 Air-duct cleaning

The customer is responsible for routine filter replacement, HVAC maintenance, moisture control, source control, and correction of system defects. Carpet Tech may stop work if damaged or fragile duct material creates a risk of additional damage. Any excluded or inaccessible components will be documented when reasonably possible.

12.6 Dryer vents

Dryer-vent cleaning addresses accessible lint and obstruction within the agreed vent path. It does not guarantee fire prevention, dryer performance, drying time, appliance condition, electrical or gas safety, or code compliance. Repairs to crushed, disconnected, excessively long, concealed, inaccessible, or improperly terminated venting are not included unless stated in writing.

12.7 Chimneys and fireplaces

Chimney cleaning is not a structural, engineering, code, fire-safety, or real-estate inspection unless the agreement expressly includes the applicable inspection level and credentialed service. Cleaning does not guarantee that a chimney, fireplace, appliance, liner, cap, flashing, masonry assembly, or vent is safe to operate. Identified defects should be evaluated and corrected before use.

13. Commercial and Institutional Projects

These public Guarantee Terms are intended primarily for ordinary residential and small-business services. A commercial, industrial, healthcare, food-service, educational, multifamily, governmental, insurer-managed, or large-loss project may require a negotiated agreement with different service levels, documentation, warranties, remedies, insurance, indemnity, and risk allocation.

For those projects, the signed commercial agreement controls.

14. Promotions and Advertising

A promotion, coupon, website statement, review response, social-media post, or advertisement does not expand these Guarantee Terms unless it clearly identifies the additional coverage, duration, conditions, and remedy.

Words such as “safe,” “complete,” “eliminates,” “restores,” “prevents,” “permanent,” “lifetime,” “guaranteed,” or similar terms will have only the meaning expressly stated in the applicable written agreement and cannot override product labels, manufacturer terms, professional limitations, or applicable law.

15. No Medical, Engineering, Insurance, or Legal Advice

Carpet Tech provides the contracted cleaning, restoration, construction, flooring, pest-management, and indoor-air services. Unless the written agreement expressly states otherwise, Carpet Tech does not provide medical diagnosis, legal advice, insurance coverage opinions, structural engineering, environmental consulting, code certification, or an independent property inspection.

Customers should consult an appropriately licensed professional for those services.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carpet Tech’s responsibility for a covered guarantee claim is limited to the reasonable remedies described in these Guarantee Terms and the applicable written agreement. Carpet Tech will not be liable under this guarantee for indirect, special, incidental, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost use, lost profits, lost rent, or business interruption.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including any rights or remedies preserved by applicable consumer-protection law. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for Carpet Tech’s fraud, willful misconduct, or other liability that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.

17. Consumer Rights

This guarantee provides specific contractual remedies. Customers may also have rights under federal, Texas, New Mexico, or other applicable law. Those rights vary and are not displaced where they cannot legally be waived.

When a written warranty covers consumer products or installed materials in addition to labor, federal warranty requirements may apply. Applicable product warranties will be made available before purchase as required by law.

18. Good-Faith Resolution

Carpet Tech wants a reasonable opportunity to resolve concerns directly. Before filing a formal claim, the customer is encouraged to provide written notice describing the issue and requested resolution. Carpet Tech will acknowledge the notice and work in good faith to inspect and respond within a reasonable time based on urgency and complexity.

This informal process does not shorten a legal limitations period or prevent either party from exercising rights provided by law.

19. Governing Law

The law of the state where the service property is located governs these Guarantee Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where federal law controls.

Any venue or dispute-resolution provision will be stated in the applicable signed service agreement and is subject to governing law.

20. Changes to These Terms

Carpet Tech may revise these Guarantee Terms prospectively. The version in effect when the customer accepts the written service agreement will apply to that service. A later change will not reduce coverage already accepted for completed or contracted work.

The effective date and version number will appear at the top of the published terms. Customers may request a copy of the version applicable to their service.

21. Severability

If a court or other authority finds part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. The affected provision will be interpreted as narrowly as necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its lawful purpose.
