Why This Is Not a DIY Situation
There are legal, health, and practical reasons professional handling is required.
Biohazardous material — blood, bodily fluids, sewage — contains pathogens that pose genuine health risks: bloodborne pathogens including HIV and hepatitis B and C, bacteria from sewage, and other contaminants. OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910.1030) govern the handling of bloodborne pathogens and require specific training, protective equipment, and waste disposal protocols.
Beyond the health risk, biohazardous waste must be disposed of through licensed channels — it cannot go into standard trash or be treated as ordinary waste. DIY attempts that don't fully remediate the contamination leave hidden health risks in the structure. And attempting to clean a scene without proper containment can spread contamination to unaffected areas.
We're trained, equipped, and licensed for this work. You don't need to attempt it yourself.
Discretion and Sensitivity
We handle this work quietly and respectfully.
We handle this work quietly and respectfully. Body: We understand that many of the situations that require biohazard cleanup are among the most painful events a family or property owner will experience. We don't treat this work as routine, and we don't treat the people we're working with as anything less than people in a genuinely hard situation.
Our team arrives without branded vehicles or obvious signage when discretion is requested. We work efficiently and quietly. We don't discuss the details of a job with anyone not directly involved. When we leave, the space is clean, safe, and documented — and we've treated it with the care it deserved.
If you're calling on behalf of a family member or dealing with a loss, we're sorry for what you're going through. We'll do our part as well as it can be done.
Our process
Here's exactly what happens when you call..
Someone answers — 24 hours a day. We'll ask a few straightforward questions to understand the situation and explain what we can do. There's no obligation from calling.
We assess the scope of contamination and determine what surfaces, materials, and areas require remediation. This assessment guides the scope of work and the documentation we'll provide.
Affected areas are contained to prevent cross-contamination to unaffected parts of the structure during remediation.
Biohazardous material is removed using full PPE and appropriate equipment. All affected surfaces are cleaned and treated with EPA-approved disinfectants effective against bloodborne pathogens and other contaminants.
All biohazardous waste is disposed of through licensed channels in compliance with applicable regulations. We handle this — you don't need to.
The remediated space is assessed to verify that contamination has been fully addressed. Documentation is provided — needed for insurance purposes and, in some cases, for property records.
If affected materials need to be replaced — flooring, drywall, subfloor — we coordinate restoration work through the appropriate channels, including CT Construction where structural work is needed.
