Standard cleaning routines maintain the surface. They don’t remove embedded dirt that works into the finish over time, dulling the wood and breaking down the protective layer.

Many household cleaners aren’t safe for wood floors at all. Too harsh and they strip the finish. Too much moisture causes swelling and warping in the joints. Parquet flooring requires a more detailed cleaning approach than standard plank hardwood because the wood grain runs in multiple directions. In patterns like herringbone, chevron, and basket weave, cleaning tools can easily work against the grain, pushing dirt into seams or open pores instead of lifting it away.

CT Specialty Flooring uses pH-neutral products, finish-safe methods, and techniques designed to lift debris without spreading it across the floor. We also clean the joints between parquet blocks, where dust and buildup often collect, helping restore a cleaner, more even appearance without dull haze or finish damage.

The seams between parquet blocks can trap debris that mopping often misses. Professional cleaning targets both the joints and the flat surface.

Finish Type Matters
